The International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (IJMRI) is dedicated to ensuring that all published work meets the highest standards of scholarly quality, originality, and ethical conduct. To achieve this, the journal follows a structured, transparent, and internationally recognized editorial and peer-review process. This system is designed to evaluate manuscripts fairly, provide constructive feedback, and uphold academic integrity at every stage.
Authors begin the process by submitting their manuscripts through the official submission portal or via email, following the formatting and ethical requirements outlined in the IJMRI Author Guidelines. Upon successful submission, a confirmation email is sent to acknowledge receipt.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned editorial board member. This assessment determines whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope, meets basic formatting standards, and adheres to principles of academic writing and originality.
Submissions that are out of scope, poorly written, or fail to meet the basic criteria may be rejected at this stage. Manuscripts deemed suitable proceed to the peer-review process. All submissions are also screened for plagiarism using tools such as Turnitin to ensure academic integrity.
IJMRI employs a double-blind peer-review model, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process. Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. In certain cases, a third reviewer may be invited to resolve conflicting evaluations.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
Originality and significance of the research topic
Clarity of research objectives and hypotheses
Rigor and appropriateness of methodology
Soundness of analysis and interpretation of results
Coherence of discussion and strength of conclusions
Relevance to interdisciplinary scholarship and real-world applications
Quality and appropriateness of references
Ethical compliance, if applicable
Based on their evaluations, reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:
Accept as submitted
Accept with minor revisions
Major revisions required
Reject
Reviewers are encouraged to provide detailed, constructive feedback that will help authors improve their work, regardless of the final recommendation.
If revisions are required, authors receive detailed reviewer comments along with guidance from the editorial team. Authors are expected to respond systematically to each comment and submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response document.
Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation, especially in cases of substantial revision.
After receiving reviewer reports and author revisions, the Editor-in-Chief or the designated editor makes the final decision regarding acceptance. This decision is based on the overall quality of the manuscript, reviewer feedback, the quality of revisions made, and the alignment of the paper with the journal’s mission and scope.
Once accepted, authors receive a formal acceptance letter, and the manuscript proceeds to the production stage.
All accepted manuscripts are professionally copyedited to ensure clarity, coherence, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to the journal’s formatting style. Authors are provided with final proofs for review and approval prior to publication. Only minor changes (e.g., typographical corrections) are allowed at this stage.
Finalized articles are published online in the current or upcoming issue. All published articles are made freely accessible on the journal’s website under a Creative Commons license. Where applicable, articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and submitted for indexing in scholarly databases such as Google Scholar and DOAJ.
The journal promotes published research via email newsletters, academic networks, and social media to enhance visibility and citation.
The average duration from submission to final decision is between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the manuscript and the responsiveness of the reviewers and authors. A general timeline is as follows:
Initial editorial screening: 3 to 5 days
Peer review: 2 to 4 weeks
Author revision: 1 to 3 weeks
Final decision and proofing: 1 to 2 weeks
Publication: Immediate upon final approval or in the scheduled issue
IJMRI adheres to the ethical standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal takes research misconduct seriously, including plagiarism, falsification of data, unethical experimentation, and improper authorship credit. All allegations are thoroughly investigated and addressed as per international best practices.
IJMRI is actively building a diverse and international editorial network. Researchers and academicians with relevant expertise and a commitment to academic service are welcome to join as peer reviewers, section editors, or advisory board members.
